For almost a week I did not update my blog because I was traveling to Malaysia again. This time I was visiting some places like Malacca, Red Church, Genting Highlands, & some places at Kuala Lumpur like KLCC, Bukit Bintang, Alor Street with its varieties food delicacies. As usual, my trip was accompanied by my daughter and my beloved wife. Every expenses was from us alone without any sponsorship of anyone. But I wish someone would give us sponsorship someday. ^^
This trip I brought along my trusty Olympus OM-D E-M5 and my best partner, the MZD 12-40mm F2.8. I realized sometimes the lens was not wide enough to take landscape photos. But I was quite satisfied with what this lens did. All photographs in this entry were taken in JPEG straight out from camera.
Trip to Malacca
After reaching KLIA, we moved to Malacca directly by using a bus. So we took a bus which costed RM 105 (3 persons) to Malacca at platform 17.
After having an hours, we finally reached Malacca. We stopped at Dataran Pahlawan as the bus did not stop in front of our Hotel. So we did the rest by walking to Novotel. My daughter was enjoying it very much.
The bed room is quite good
The bath room is cool
Top view from our room, the swimming pool
The most interesting thing in this hotel in my opinion was the bathroom curtain which could open and close automatically by switching the button (located inside the bath room).

For the night, we went to one place which served 100 varieties of foods and it was one of the kind in Malacca. We enjoyed foods here.
Sek Yow Fook Restaurant
It says: Business hours 8 AM - 9 PM, closed on the last Saturday & Sunday of the month
In the morning, we got breakfast in the hotel and it was awesome. They served many kind of foods and beverages and it's all in fresh condition.
My daughter was enjoying her meals
For the conclusion, Novotel was one of the best hotel in Malacca. With its best services, everyone was so kind and helpful. I would recommend everyone to stay in this hotel as for myself and my family would visit this hotel again when we were in Malacca.
So after having breakfast, we were heading out to Malacca street. Here are some of the photographs:
Doraemon
Hello Kitty
Melaka Bike Share
After that, we moved to Equatorial Hotel, still in Malacca.
The bed room of Equatorial hotel
The interesting thing of the Equatorial hotel were that they had big space in the room and many movie program channels. So the children would love it when they were in bed room. They had a good and clean water swimming pool, too.
Equatorial front building at night
Equatorial was one of the best hotel in providing movies program selection. My daughter loved it very much. Unfortunately we did not get breakfast in the hotel. Overall, the hotel still could be one of your choice to stay. And if you had kids, this hotel was the right choice.
Back Alley
Malacca also had laundry service close to our hotel. The charges was still OK according to me since we need to save cost. This is the best choice!
Below are some of the photographs when we were at Malacca & Jonker Street:
Trip to Genting Highlands
Spending about 3 days in Malacca, we were heading to Genting Highlands by using a bus. We started from Melaka Sentral (bus station) using bus 707. The bus had 2 colors, yellow (to Singapore) and blue (to Genting). So you might choose the blue one.
Yellow color (to Singapore)
Ok, now we were arriving at Genting Highlands. We stayed at First World Hotel where everything was done by system.
If you had booked the hotel via online booking such as: agoda.com, booking.com, etc you did not need to queue for a long line to get the check-in confirmation from the hotel. You just asked the manager there (quite many managers, so don't worry) to update your passport ID so you could directly do the self check-in by the computer. After that you could go inside to your room (mentioned in the receipt you got from the computer). You had also need to add RM 5 if you need to have early check-in.
So here is our room, located at Tower 3, 24th Floor with the scenery behind the windows as you can see directly outside mountains with blue sky. The highest floor is 28. The room is very small and narrow. No good TV & movie channels.
For the conclusion, First World Hotel was not a good place to spend with if you were with children. Because the room was so small and narrow, children would not love it. As you knew if Genting was a place for people gambling. So they made the place only for resting. But they had other amusement places for kids to play, so children were not get bored.
Trip to Kuala Lumpur
Time to go down now. There were two alternatives to go down from Genting. We were planning to go to Kuala Lumpur. We were checking any posibilities from using taxi and bus. And finally, we decided to go down by Genting Skyway. Why? Of course, it was cheaper than others. Taxi would cost RM 130 to KL and bus did not have any route to KL. So the only one choice was using the Genting Skyway (cable car). Cable car would take us down to Lower station where we could take a bus direct to KL. Cable car costed RM 6.4 each, it was cheaper a lot comparing with taxi. After we reached the Lower Station, we took bus to Pudu Raya which was the closest place to our hotel. It costed RM 4.6 each. So you could save more RM for other things.
Lower Station
Next destination was to Invito Hotel which was located near Bukit Bintang. So we took bus from Lower Station to Pudu Sentral.
Finally we reached Invito Hotel, the hotel was so cool. It located near Jalan Alor and Bukit Bintang where we could find foods easily.
Invito Hotel from Alor Street
Time we spent before going back to Indonesia was at KLCC Twin Towers & Batu Caves.
So, Batu Caves was the last place we visited in this trip. I wish I could come again to Malaysia in a few months or years later. See ya.. ^^
